Senior discounts can help stretch a budget, but the details change frequently. There is no standard qualifying age, and some offers depend on location, availability, a rewards account, or a paid membership.
The offers below were checked against official provider pages on August 18, 2026. Follow the link for current terms before making a special trip or purchase.

Restaurant and membership discounts
The restaurant claims in the original Facebook post were especially inconsistent. Many restaurant locations are franchises, so a cashier may offer a local senior drink, menu, or percentage discount that is not a nationwide company policy.
AARP maintains a current directory of member offers, including participating national and local restaurants. These discounts require a paid AARP membership and can change. Search by location and compare the expected savings with the membership cost.

How to use this list
- Check the linked official terms on the day you plan to use an offer.
- Call the specific location when participation may vary.
- Ask what age qualifies and whether identification or membership is required.
- Compare the senior price with sales, loyalty rewards, matinee rates, prepaid plans, and other promotions.
- Never provide a Social Security number or banking password merely to receive a store discount.
What happened to the Facebook list?
The original post named many familiar businesses, but much of its information was outdated or inaccurate. It included defunct companies, former airline names, implausibly large discounts, and offers that could not be confirmed on official websites. Those claims were not republished as facts. This page can be expanded as additional offers are confirmed directly with providers.
Offers can change without notice and may vary by location. Last verified August 18, 2026.
